Privacy Policy

In effect since August 30, 2026

Curio Collective is a small vintage and handmade boutique on Main Street in Okanagan Falls. This page explains what happens to your information when you visit this website or get in touch with us. The short version: the website itself asks you for nothing, and we keep only what we need in order to answer you.

Who we are

Curio Collective, 936 Main Street, Okanagan Falls, British Columbia V0H 1R4, Canada.

If you have a question about this policy or about information we may hold, write to us at [email protected] or call +1 250-809-2690. A real person reads it.

What this website collects

Nothing you have to give us. There are no accounts, no contact forms, no shopping cart and no newsletter sign-up on this site — you can read every page without leaving anything behind.

Our host records the usual technical details of each request — the IP address, the browser type, which page was asked for and when — in order to serve the pages and to keep the site safe from abuse. Those records are short-lived and are not used to work out who an individual visitor is.

Cookies

By default this website stores nothing on your device. There are no advertising cookies here, and there never will be.

If you allow visitor statistics, Google Analytics places its own cookies in your browser (named _ga and _ga_…) so that a returning browser is not counted twice. They expire after two years. We see totals — which pages were read, roughly where in the world from, on what kind of device — never names or individual people.

Your answer is remembered in your browser's own storage, not in a cookie, and it stays on your device. You can change your mind at any time from the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of any page.

If you get in touch

When you email or phone us, we keep your message and your contact details for as long as it takes to answer you properly and to remember the conversation afterwards.

We do not add you to a mailing list, we do not use your details for marketing, and we do not pass them to anyone else.

Links to other places

Our Facebook, Instagram and Google Maps links take you off this site. Once you are there, that company's own privacy policy applies, not ours. We do not receive any report of who followed a link.

Where the information goes

The website is hosted on Cloudflare's network, which serves the pages from the location closest to the visitor. If you allow statistics, that data is processed by Google.

This means information may be handled outside Canada, including in the United States, where it can be subject to the laws of that country and accessible to its authorities.

Your rights

Under Canada's PIPEDA and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act you may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and withdraw a consent you have given. Write to us at the address above; we will normally answer within 30 days, and there is no charge for a straightforward request.

If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.

Children

This website is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page with a new date at the top. We do not change it quietly.
